Tammy Williamson retired from the United States Marine Corps in June 2012, having served as the Recruit Distribution Monitor at Headquarters, United States Marine Corps. From 2012 to 2024, she served as the Chartered Chapter President of the National Montford Point Marine Association, Inc., NC Triad-Triangle Chapter 38. She is currently the Journal Director for the National Montford Point Marine Association, and Chairperson of the Advisory Board for the NC Department of Military and Veterans Affairs Hall of Firsts Committee. Tammy is also a member of Women Veterans Support Services (WVSS), the Armed Forces Retiree Group of Greensboro, American Legion Post 540, and Marine Corps League LCpl Alan D. Lam Detachment #1209.
George Teague manages a legislative practice in Raleigh and practices in litigation, insurance regulation, and administrative law. With 35 years of experience in government relations and administrative law, he is well-equipped and knowledgeable of politics, government relations, and state & local government practices. Throughout his career, he has been able to establish himself as a skilled problem-solver and strong advocate for his clients.
George has been providing pro bono services for the Veterans Council since 2008. He served as a member of the US Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps from 1971 until 1975 as the Judge advocate for the Naval Regional Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pa.
Dr. Joseph W. Wescott II (Joe) is the National Legislative Director for the National Association of State Approving Agencies (NASAA) and serves as National Higher Education Consultant for the American Legion. He previously held roles as Legislative Liaison for the North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and Executive Director of the North Carolina State Approving Agency. A U.S. Army veteran and Wake Forest University graduate, Dr. Wescott holds a doctorate in Higher Education Administration from NC State University, where he also serves as an adjunct professor. With extensive experience in higher education and veterans’ advocacy, he has served on national boards including the VA Advisory Committee on Education, the Council on College and Military Educators, and the Wake Forest National Alumni Council. He is also a published author on history and veterans’ education issues and has been recognized for his service by the North Caroliniana Society and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
Kenny A. Joyner, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran (1980–1984), moved from Robbins, Illinois to Fayetteville, North Carolina in March 2014. He remains active in veteran affairs, serving as Compliance Officer for the Marine Corps League Mid-East Division, Legislative Officer for the NC Department, and Past Commandant of the Shawn Knisley Detachment #983. He is also Finance Officer at American Legion Post 32 and Team Captain for the Montford Point Marines Association, NC Triad-Triangle Chapter 38. Additionally, he served on the White House Committee for Hunger, Nutrition, and Health representing the Rockefeller Foundation.
A devoted family man, Kenny is married and has two children. His educational achievements include an Associate Degree, a Bachelor’s Degree, and graduate studies at Robert Morris University in Chicago, Illinois, where he began his DBA research.
